Acts 8-9:31 Never Give Up

Sometimes in my interaction with people, my natural tendency tells me to give up on some of them: they will never become a believer, it's not even worth trying to talk to them.

There are multiplied reasons I can give for this mindset.

“Their only interests in life are getting drunk and getting laid and they'd sell their soul to the devil twice over if he could give them more”

“They are so intent on the pursuit of earthly pleasures, that they have drowned out any sense of urgency or interest towards eternal matters”

“They've been brainwashed by Richard Dawkins”

“This person's deepest thought this past month was that they were 'all about that bass!' Jesus isn't even on their radar”

Or was it all about that bass?

But when it comes right down to it, those are all excuses. Excuses I give for not living in and spreading the kingdom of God on earth. Excuses for not believing in the power of the Gospel of Jesus. Because when I see where Saul started in his spiritual journey, and where he ended up, I realize none of these excuses stand. There isn't one person that we can write off as a lost cause. All of them are made in the image of God, all of them have that divine spark and are infinitely valuable. And any of them can be touched by the God who created them. And He can turn them into a new creation.
