Acts 14:1 - 16:5

Acts 14:1 - 16:5

This is my very last blog of the year!

I have never been a very great writer nor have I ever written a blog before, so this has been a very difficult journey for me.  But, this was something that I thought would stretch me out of my comfort zone, and boy did it ever.

In our text today, we see Paul and his faithful follower Barnabas going from town to town spreading the Gospel amidst incredible hardship, persecution, and even some people worshiping them as gods.

I am sure that there were a few times in this text where they were stretched and outside of their comfort zones.  I think that most people would call it a day after being stoned nearly to death (Acts 14:19), but they continued on and let nothing stop them from proclaiming Jesus.

Of course I am not equating my blogging experience to being stoned, but there were times that I wanted to quit and give up because I was too busy or I did not know what to write.  Between school, working, church, and having a life, blogging was probably towards the bottom on my priority list.  Plus, lets be honest, there are probably only 10 people out there that still read these on a regular basis.  But I know that it is something that the Lord wants me to do.  He wants me to complete this task and persevere till the end, which I have now done.

What is it in your life that the Lord is wanting you to persevere in and finish until the end?  Have you allowed hardship stop you from completing your task?

Ask the Holy Spirit to give you a renewed passion for Him and His Mission of spreading the Gospel.  Even when it may seem like the whole world is against you - holding a stone ready to launch; when the Holy Spirit empowers you and you become passionate for the things that God is passionate about, that is when God begins to do an incredible work.  His glory becomes the focus when we are at our weakest.
