Jeremiah 32 & 33

Even in this dark time, we see hope. Though there is death and destruction, there will be life. David's throne will live on. A righteous Branch will spring up from David's family tree and bring about peace and justice. Not only will this Branch be a king, he will be a priest as well. But where the past kings and priests have failed, he will not. Jeremiah received this message from God while in prison. I'm sure it gave him hope and restored his faith in God.

We live in a dark time. With everything that is going on in the world it can be hard to have hope. However, we do have hope for restoration like the Israelites did. Jesus came as the Branch and was the perfect king, priest, and prophet. He was the flawless sacrificial lamb who takes away the sins of the world. (Read the book of Hebrews in the New Testament to get a fuller picture of how he fulfills all of these roles). He is coming back again to get rid of death once and for all. The faithful remnant will have their land (the new heaven and the new earth) and He will be our God and we will be His people forever and ever. No more pain, no more suffering, no more death.
