O my God, incline your ear and hear. Open your eyes and see our desolations, and the city that is called by your name. For we do not present our pleas before you because of our righteousness, but because of your great mercy. O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive. O Lord, pay attention and act. Delay not, for your own sake, O my God, because your city and your people are called by your name.” ~Daniel 9:18-19
Still true right? Still applicable to us. Please act Lord, because your people are called by your name! As we saw in chapter 6 (by the way, can I just say that I think it's a crime this bible plan skipped chapters 4 and 5!?! Maybe I missed that somewhere?) Daniel made a habit of praying at regular times no matter what was going on in his life. We can learn so much from his example. Multiple times in the new testament we are told to pray consistently or even continually. As Ian always says, without prayer there is no revival! Let's be a church that prays on a regular basis and expect that God will answer one way or another, not because we are awesome enough for him to listen (we're not), but because of HIS great name.
