Genesis 12-13:
Legen...Wait For It...Dary

Go. Leave your country. Leave your friends. Leave your parents. And keep going until I tell you to stop. Leave everything that you know and follow me to a place I will tell you about later.

It sounds incredible and yet, verse 4 tells us, with such unbelievable simplicity
"Abram went..."
In a small way, I experienced something similar last September. I heard God calling me to leave my job to start a company. After I decided to go, not everyone agreed that it was the correct choice. I'm not sure that I even agreed it was the right choice. But I knew that if I did not take that step, I would miss out on something incredible. I believe Abram felt this same excitement, even if he was not completely sure yet of this "God" he knew nothing about.

If you do this Abram, you are going to change the world forever.

God's dream for Abram is so much larger than anything he could have ever imagined for himself. Abram probably would have been content to have a few children and live out his days in peace.  God did not offer him only fatherhood.  God did not come to him to offer him the promise of having a normal family and a normal life. He promised that if he took this step of faith, his family, his children, would be made into a great nation. Wow. And not just any nation, but a nation that would bless the entire world.

And how would this nation bless the entire world? Abram has no clue what God has up His sleeve - that He is going to use the faith of this one man to create a nation. From this nation, thousands of years after Abram's death, a tiny baby boy will be born. And on His shoulders will rest the hope of us all - the hope for redemption.

If you will take this step, if you will follow me, if you will trust me, I will blow. your. mind.

"Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us- to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen."   Eph 3:20-21
