We're such Judgey people. By nature. It's so dang easy to look at another person's life and pick apart where they are missing the mark. We compare them to ourselves (or others) and harp on how they have fallen so short. It's pathetic, really.Since when did we become so perfect that we have the audacity (or right) to analyze another's life? Are we not trying to elevate ourselves in the process of negatively evaluating our peers? And to even more judge those in our church... our brothers and sisters. To demote the very people we are standing with to further the Kingdom in the name of Jesus.
This poses a challenge to all.
5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
My guess is that the time it will take to remove the plank from your own eye will take a really long time... so it may just be best to put all your judgements aside and extend the same grace that has so graciously been extended to you.
