Malachi 1-2: Where is your fear of me?

Okay. So you need to stick around for Malachi. Caleb will be writing tomorrow on the remainder of the book -- and whoa. You should read it {both the book of Malachi and Caleb's blog}. I pretty much have to more boring part of the book {I'm just a little jealous of Caleb's text}.

The Israelites are just slightly confused {really confused}. In the time of Malachi they are not "feeling" the blessing of the Lord. And God tells them, I have loved you so very dearly. Just as though we were the closest of family members. And Israel is like, what?!?! How?!?! We don't see your blessings.
{pause. israel you make me so angry sometimes}
And God in his powerful omnipotence takes that little finger point and turns it right back around. For two chapters. Here you go Israel. Here's why you may not feel my love and blessing. You've strayed. You've cheated and lied. You've given me the crappy and called it a sacred sacrifice. Maybe perhaps you don't feel my love and blessings because you've decided to go against to commandments.

Sin separates. And by the looks of it, that's exactly what the Israelites are feeling in this time.

Is sin separating you right now? From God? From family, spouses, or friends? Life is most fully lived in the light of God's beautiful and merciful redemption. Find life in what was done on the cross. Live, friends.
