1 Kings 13-14: Staying the course

Have you ever met anyone who seemingly has a Kingdom mind and yet doesn't have a Kingdom heart. I often even questions my Kingdom heart. You see the gospel mission is one that leads down many very difficult roads and these roads are often pretty hard. In this passage we find a man of God that is tasked with going to Bethel and commanded to not eat or drink on the path there. When he is approached by an old prophet he is told that God has told him that he is to take him in and care for him. This of course is a lie that leads to the man of Gods destruction.

For me the longer I live the more I've learned to be cautious with people who appear to "have it together". A kingdom heart is very hard to come by but a kingdom mind is pretty easy to fake. I see it constantly with working within a kingdom minded business as it seems people try to take advantage of that time after time. However if we are to have Kingdom lives and follow the right path we really need to make sure we remain fixed on our mission. Food and water is pretty terrible to be without but through the power of God we can make it through anything.

We must stay the course and beware of the enemy, lest we be mauled by an lion.
