Have you ever looked behind you and said "I wish I could go back to that place I was in, that memory that I have, or that fulfillment I felt." We as humans tend to reflect back and only remember the good things in times of struggle. I do this very specifically when I think about my time living outside of the states in Ireland. I loved so many aspects of living there but the truth is for much of the time I missed my friends. I missed hanging out with my bros and spending time with those who knew me better than anybody possibly could in Ireland.
When I read Exodus 16 I get it. The Israelites are tired, hungry, and ticked off. They Grumble with the best of them and they go so far as to question leaving Egypt in the first place. I think we all tend to read these chapters and be like "Are you kidding me. You just got rescued and your wanting to go back?!?".
Things always look better when they're behind you and you are in the midst of a desert in your life. It was that way with Israel and it is that way now. I'm not sure if its a blessing or a curse but it happens and it happened with Moses in the middle of the desert.
Whats great though is as God does with us, He shows His faith even in the midst whining. He freaking makes bread fall from the sky and then tops it all off by making water bust out of rocks. How many times has He done this for us in our deserts? I can think of a few.
