Psalm 105: Faithfulness

After concluding the book of Deuteronomy, we jump to a relevant Psalm before moving into Joshua. This Psalm speaks praises of God for his goodness and faithfulness in the covenant.
"Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice! Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually!"
What a great reminder - if we seek the Lord, we should be overcome with joy. What room could there possibly be for insecurity and doubt when we dwell in the midst of an omnipotent God who loves us?
"He remembers his covenant forever, the word that he commanded, for a thousand generations, the covenant that he made with Abraham, his sworn promise to Isaac, which he confirmed to Jacob as a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant, saying, 'To you I will give the land of Canaan as your portion for an inheritance.' "
God's faithfulness in His promise is absolute. Despite Israel's tenuous fidelity, the Lord never wavers in his commitment.
They asked, and he brought quail, and gave them bread from heaven in abundance. He opened the rock, and water gushed out; it flowed through the desert like a river. For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham, his servant. So he brought his people out with joy, his chosen ones with singing.
God provided for His people even in their time of rebellion. Not only did He show mercy to them, but He blessed them with everything they needed by supernatural  means. What love and grace!
And he gave them the lands of the nations, and they took possession of the fruit of the peoples' toil, that they might keep his statutes and observe his laws. Praise the LORD!
The Lord is faithful to His promise, and leads His ragtag group of rebellious ragamuffins into a land of abundance, that they may be set apart for His purposes. Praise the Lord indeed!
